Thanks for the recommendation.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01758927721152378470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911130560032069160.post-76468282943288155292010-11-25T08:40:55.054-05:002010-11-25T08:40:55.054-05:00I love Bishop too, Sara! You should get that and dip into the collection of letters here and there as you read Bishop's poetry! :)Brigittehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06472220861595900265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911130560032069160.post-3956843341018986852010-11-24T18:58:17.386-05:002010-11-24T18:58:17.386-05:00Oh, finally we have a place where our opinions don...Oh, finally we have a place where our opinions don't naturally align, Emily! I'm glad actually as it was getting a little awkward always agreeing with you about EVERYTHING! ;) I love Elizabeth Bishop. Serious, major, total, complete author-love here. Her short story "The Farmer's Children" is so very fine it hurts. And though it has been years since I read her poetry with any attention, I remember adoring her. So, yes I will see if my expectations of her align with my experience this time around. And though I have my suspicions about why our opinions differ, I'll withhold judgment until I read again.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01758927721152378470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-911130560032069160.post-84097325578993004382010-11-24T13:02:33.448-05:002010-11-24T13:02:33.448-05:00I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Bi...I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Bishop. She's one of those greats whom I just haven't been able to appreciate, however much I've tried.

I found the Auster interview quite intriguing, and am also curious about your impressions of him. Overall, good plan!Emilyhttp://www.eveningallafternoon.comnoreply@blogger.com
