I'm sorry that you didn't really enjoy Rodney Jones's Kingdom of the Insant, even though that one line "Days flash-seal with a pop like canning jars" really is amazing. I can see what you mean. The lines you quoted sound great, but I'm not sure they actually mean much. Ted Kooser would undoubtedly be annoyed. I love the Poetry Home Repair Manual. We used it in a poetry class and I kept it long after. When I lost it, I went out and bought another one straight away. It's something I like to go back to every once in a while. Ted Kooser and I share a lot of the same opinions on poetry. Have you ever read any of Kooser's poetry? I really love it.
